The girls were SO excited to leave. We drove about 45 minutes to a town called Owosso to get on the train. We boarded the train and set off on our hour long journey to the North Pole. During our ride, we had all you can drink hot chocolate. Our seats even faced each other which made for some of the best family time I can remember. Even my Ellie loved the hot chocolate. After we had finished our 1st cup they came around with HUGE snickerdoodle cookies to munch on. And of course if you eat a cookie, then you will need more hot chocolate:) During the ride to the North Pole we had fun waving at all of the cars at railroad crossings and looking for deer and turkey in the fields.
The hour just flew by and before we knew it we were at the North Pole. I wish it was snowy and cold today as it was hard to picture the North pole in 60 degree weather. Oh well, we entered a building that had all of the activities for the day so we were dry and comfy for the next two hours. We began by writing a letter to Santa and placing our letters in a very specail mailbox. We then rode some rides, visited the face painting booth, went down a very fast slide, had a hotdog, and met Santa. Isabella had a seperate list that she wrote on the train to hand to Santa. She went over the list very carefully with him. It looks as if Santa has just a little more shopping to do before Christmas. And then it was Ellie's turn. haha She didn't love Santa but she tolerated him and even talked with him and got her picture taken. Charles is so good at prepping the girls for events like this. He had her all worked up to tell him how old she was, her name, and that she wanted books and a baby doll for Christmas. She did a great job.
After our two hours was up, we boarded the train to head back. We drank some more hot chocolate and recieved big Polar Express mugs. We created family memories today that you could never put a dollar amount on. This is something Charles and I will cherish for the rest of our lives. Our family is so precious to us and we are cherishing every moment with our girls while they are still little:) We are so blessed and thank God everyday for our girls. Enjoy the pics from our day!
