We had such a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with great friends and family! We headed over to Warren Dunes for a fun weekend of camping with our friends the Bremers and Erin and Ryan. The weather was really nice ( a little hot on Sunday at 95 degrees) and a big improvement over our rain out from last year! We didn't have to eat at Pizza Hut:) Instead we cooked over the fire every night. Hamburgers, brats, hotdogs, and even pizza pies:) Oh, I don't want to forget the Pudgie pies! I had one EVERY night. I told myself I wasn't before we went but then I just HAD to. They are SO good and with icing they are amazing. I have been back to my workout routine this week and I needed it. I was feeling a bit pudgie after last week and weekend.
For those who didn't know, we lost a GREAT lady last week. My Great Grandma (Granny) went to be with Jesus. She longed to go "home" to be with him. She was 97 and such a great example of a mother, wife, and beautiful christian woman. She will always be one of the people I strive to be like. Luckly my Mom is a lot like her:)
We traveled 10 hours to NC on Tuesday. The funeral was on Wednesday at 11 and then we headed back another 10 hours on Wednesday. I then headed back to MI on Thursday and then on Friday we headed towards the Dunes. I am still trying to recover. Hopefully come Monday I will be back to normal. Well I guess this is enough writing for now! As you can tell in the pics, it was a great weekend. We also remember those who have served in our military. Past, present, and future. We thank you greatly.
